Göttingen Regional Education Project
On behalf of both the municipalities of the region as well as the government of Lower Saxony, the Southern Lower Saxony Regional Association (Regionalverband Südniedersachsen) coordinates the Göttingen Regional Education Project (Bildungsregion Göttingen) as a state-local partnership for education.
Methods for improving the quality of education stand at the center of this undertaking, which is tailored to the individual needs of students.
The Regional Education Project is particularly involved with designing the various transitions between educational sectors.
Since 2009, one of the most important projects has been the regional coordination of „the house of little researchers”, a nationally active foundation which promotes enthusiasm for technology and science among kindergarteners.
An equally important project, in which 40 schools and more than 60 businesses of Lower Saxony participate, focuses on providing profession guidance to youths (SchulBetrieb).
In the Summer of 2016, the Regional Education Project will present the first educational report of Lower Saxony.
The Göttingen Regional Education Project contributes to the development of the region South Lower Saxony with both its regional ties and its well-established networks including municipalities, the state government, educational institutions, research institutions, student and parent representatives, labor unions, etc.
In addition, the Regional Education Project offers enhanced communication possibilities via its educational database, educational atlas and internal distribution lists.
